Tuesday started a new chapter.
This past Sunday, I traveled to Iowa. Yes, on purpose. I traveled to the Urbandale / Grimes area. It was here that I spent the first night away from the MRS and kiddos. It was weird. The entire weekend was weird. But it started that night. I didn’t sleep well that night, simply because Monday was a good day. A very good day.
Monday, I finally met with Performance Display and Millwork to accept a new position there as Convenience Store Specialist. Yes, that means that I have left Hussmann.
Tuesday, August 10, was supposed to be my last day, but management thought it was best I go home. Spent time hanging with my good friend Atomica for a bit after handing in my key. It’s bittersweet. Honestly. I enjoyed working at Hussmann – but the last few years have been very very difficult making sure I was happy working. I enjoyed the work, I didn’t really enjoy the environment from management and their inability to work with me to keep me on.
So this coming Monday is my first day at Performance. My first day at a new job in NINETEEN YEARS. Yes, one nine.
It’s a mix of anxiety, fear, anger, and elation. But honestly, these people _want_ to work with me, and keep me busy, and do cool things.
To all the Hussmann family I worked with every day that _might_ read this – you were cool. To all of the new family I’m making at Performance – you sure you know what you are getting into? Aw yeah.
Wow, congrats buddy! Enjoy your new adventure!!
